in Crisis
Having worked in the Kashmir valley since 2010, we believe in a preventive and comprehensive, contextual approach to mental health.
We understand the cultural ethos of the valley as well as what it is like, to live through violence, shutdowns and curfews. All our care providers are Kashmiri and understand about life in Kashmir.
Our care providers have diverse backgrounds and approaches to mental health care and are trauma-informed.
All our work is:
- Community based
- Trauma informed
- Psychosocial
Our work includes:
- Direct services
- Training
- Outreach & Awareness
We exist to make mental health support freely accessible to every Kashmir, irrespective of how much they earn. Apart from counselling and therapy services, we also believe in preventive mental health.
We believe that building emotional resilience, fostering social-emotional skills in young ones and training primary health care providers to provide psychosocial support can go a long way in meeting mental health challenges confidently.
